of clever spinning

of twists and turns in plot

of heroes buried and then re-winning

of lives regained then lost

A tale was told

of truth and fortune

of lies and clever deceit

a tale was told

of love once beginning

of loves then in retreat

a tale was told

of fortunes gained and lost

a tale was told

of people surviving

a deluge of personal cost

a tale was told

of people striving

to create a world anew

of selfless thoughtful forgiving

to bring about what’s true
